Mailing List Information

General

This is some general information about administrating your mailing list and its subscribers.

You should already have information about your user account.  An addition to the Webmail interface provides the management functions you will need for your mailing list.  When you log in you will see that 4 new folders have been added for your mailing list.

      <list> (LIST) <== Current message archive
      <list>/approval                     <==  Postings waiting approval
      <list>/reports <== Bounce and other error messages
      <list>/requests                     <==  Subscription requests

Click on "(LIST)" to get to the additional Mailing List Settings menu.  It is comprised of three sub-menus.  We highly recommend that you spend the time to read the help information by clicking on the "?" in the small box.

The Main Settings sub-menu contains most of the setup info for your mailing list.  Please review all of the settings.  You can also customize the various messages and formats as you see fit.  For example, you might want to include mention of the "null" feed mode in the default Trailer test and Welcome Message.

If you enabled Digesting and Archiving, then the Digest & Archive sub-menu is the next place to go.  Again, please review all of the settings and customize the formats as you see fit.

The Subscription sub-menu allows you to manage the individual subscribers.

Users can view the mailing list's archive and manage their subscriptions by going to https://mail.<domain>/Lists/<list>/List.html.  If "Who can Browse" access is limited to subscribers they will first need to log first.  They should use their email address for the username and the mailing list's confirmation ID for the password.  If they don't remember their confirmation ID they can send a message to <list>-confirm@<domain>.
