Mail Front-End Information

General

This is some general information about administrating your domain's mail Front-End Spam and Virus Filtering service via the secure admin web interface.

You should have your Postmaster account info.  This was mailed to you when your domain's mail front-end was configured.

The admin functions are accomplished via a secure web interface.  Point your web browser to https://mail.sstar.com:9010/admin/<domain>.  For example, https://mail.sstar.com:9010/admin/xyz.com.  You can either read the server's manual or click Enter and log in as "postmaster" with the Mail Password.

You will then be shown the Accounts screen for your domain's mail.  The menu bar at the top allows you to select between the screens, including Accounts, Domain Settings, Account Defaults, Alerts, Security, Skins, and WebAdmin.

Help is available for most screens by clicking on the "?" in the small box.  It is usually found on the upper right.  This will show you the relevant part of the manual.  You can set certain display characteristics by clicking on the "check mark" in the small box.  It is usually found on the upper left.

Some screens also have a "Display" button.  Clicking it will update the information on that screen.  The Update and Reset buttons are use to accept or reject, respectively, changes you make on a screen.  Be sure to Update before leaving the screen or your changes will be lost!

The Accounts screen shows you a list of current accounts and forwarders.  There is only one account, your admin account.  Use the Forwarders sub-screen to create a forwarding entry for each of your users.  When we create the domain we will probably put in one entry to show you the correct format.  It should look like this.

Name Forward to
john.doe john.doe%<domain>@mail.<domain>.smtp

After you have entered all of your users please let us know so that we can complete the setup.  You can add and delete users at any time in the future.  There is no need to notify us of these changes.

You will also need to get whoever is hosting DNS for the your domain to point the MX 10 record to mail.sstar.com, and the MX 20 record to queue.idsno.net.  Please note that the mail.<domain> A record should remain as it is now, pointing to your mail server.

This is all that you need to do.  You are welcome to poke around the rest of the menus if you care to.  You won't find much that you can change, however.
